The first workshop in a series, will be focused on the design development for new art on the Apollo Beach Water Tower. Michael Parker will lead participants through the process of collaborating on a public art design. If you are interested in working with other community members to change the character of one of South Shore’s most visible landmarks, please join us. We are encouraging participation from serious and interested South Shore residents including the towns of Gibsonton, Ruskin, Apollo Beach, Riverview (south of the Alafia River), Sun City Center, and Wimauma. Space may be limited, so an RSVP is required. You may RSVP by calling 813-846-2000 or emailing info@southshoreartscouncil.org
If you cannot attend the workshops, there will be multiple ways that you can participate in the design process. There will be an online survey available at our website to accept your ideas and input. We will also have social media outlets available for updates and conversation threads. As you all know the South Shore area is growing rapidly. We would like the new art for the water tower to reflect our community and become something that we can be proud of.
