Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of injury deaths, unintentional injuries, and hospital admissions for trauma. Falls can take a serious toll on older adults’ quality of life and independence. That’s why we’re offering some help in preventing falling concerns with our upcoming Fall Prevention Symposium. Join us for a lunch to learn more about actions you can take to reduce your risk for falls and injuries. Lunch is provided with registration.
Our panel of speakers will include Daisy Diaz, RN, LHRM, CPPS South Bay Hospital Patient Safety Director, who will discuss Stopping Falls Before They Happen; Heather Smith, RPT, Manager Rehab Services will discuss Got Balance? Better Methods to Prevent Falling; Dr. Juna Misiri, Cardiologist, Electrophysiologist will speak on Afib and Falling Concerns and Brandi Conley, LECOM Pharmacy Student will discuss Medication’s Role in Fall Injuries.
