Hillsborough County’s Open Doors Forum is back this year in a virtual environment to help the representatives of hundreds of minority-owned and small businesses mingle and exchange information and ideas for government contracting.
On April 30, minority-owned and small businesses can make their own connections virtually at the 7th Annual Open Doors Forum, from 9 a.m. to noon. The free business networking event helps minority, women, and small business owners connect to opportunities in government contracting.
Hillsborough’s commitment to supporting the County’s minority-owned and small businesses is part of an overall effort to continue to grow prosperity in the community.
Local governments, financial institutions, small business loan specialists, general contractors, bond agencies, and others send representatives to the annual event that solidifies the County's reputation as a haven for business.
About 50 companies and public-sector organizations are scheduled to attend this year’s virtual event in hopes of finding new contractors who can bid on their projects.
Some of those companies and organizations include:

The Open Doors Forum is organized by Hillsborough County's Disadvantaged Minority/Disadvantaged Women Business Enterprise (DM/DWBE) and Small Business Encouragement (SBE) programs as part of an Economic Development initiative to increase access for minority-owned, women-owned, and small businesses to participate in local government purchasing contracts. The event is hosted in partnership with the Hillsborough County DM/DWBE & SBE Advisory Committee.
