The public is invited to a Snooty Memorial Open House event to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Manatee County's beloved manatee, who drowned July 23.
Admission is free and includes a visual tribute to Snooty in the Bishop Planetarium and a visit to the Parker Aquarium, where Snooty once lived. Over the past 19 years, 33 different manatees that were undergoing rehabilitation were comforted by Snooty. There are currently three manatees undergoing rehabilitation, and they will be returned to the wild when they are in good health.
There will be memorial books to sign at the entrance to the museum as well.
