Superintendent Jeff Eakins continues to inform voters about the November 6 Education Referendum sharing our schools' needs and the positive impact a half-penny sales tax would have on our students, schools and community, through several town hall meetings.
The town hall meetings have been scheduled throughout the county. The district understands families and community members have busy schedules during the week, so a Saturday meeting has been added on Saturday, October 6, at 11 a.m., at HCC at The Regent Satellite Campus in Riverview.
Superintendent Eakins is sharing information about the state of our school district, exciting opportunities for our students, and the $2 billion challenge our community faces because of inadequate state funding.
Each meeting will provide families, district employees and community members the opportunity to get their questions about the referendum answered - straight from Superintendent Eakins. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
As the largest employer in Hillsborough County, serving more than 218,000 students, Hillsborough County Public Schools strives to provide the very best opportunities for our students and the community as we climb together to prepare our students for life.
