My name is Nancy Jacobs and I am running for County Court Judge, Group 7, in 2020. I grew up in Miami. I left Miami to attend college at University of Florida and returned to Miami to attend law school at University of Miami and to be near my family.
Once I graduated from law school in 1985, I moved to Tampa to start my first job as an attorney.
Soon thereafter, I married and was blessed with three wonderful children who are now 30, 28 and 26 years old and have successful careers of their own. I am very lucky to still have the wisdom and love of my father, who is 85 and residing nearby. My mother who died many years ago, is in my thoughts every day.
I live in Carrollwood with my three “furry children”, Salty, Dexter and Millie who are rescue dogs. I am actively and passionately involved in the causes of animal rescue and welfare.
I have practiced law in Hillsborough County for thirty- four years. I began my career as prosecutor. For almost a decade, I served the community by representing the citizens of Hillsborough County and working to keep them safe every day. As part of my job, I did my best to serve the needs of the victims of crime. Most of all, I sought justice for all, including insuring that innocent people were not prosecuted. During my time as I prosecutor, I handled misdemeanor, traffic, juvenile and felony cases of all types including murder prosecutions.
For the last twenty-six years, I have owned my own solo law firm. I have practiced criminal defense and family law. I represent and assist people at the worst times of their lives.
