Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce
Member Appreciation Luncheon
Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) hosted their Annual Member Appreciation Lunch event on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at The Regent, 6437 Watson Road, Riverview, FL. This very special Luncheon was sponsored by The Bridges Retirement Community and Pastor Kyle Norton, Bell Shoals Baptist Church Riverview Campus, provided the day’s invocation. 2019 Honorary Mayor of Riverview Bill Andrew of Aldea Green - Eagle Senior Living led the group in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
As is tradition, July’s luncheon was Member Appreciation where all Chamber members were invited to attend for free. Prior to filling their plates with the delicious food prepared by The Bridge’s chef, guests were encouraged to pose for a luau themed photo opp and play games such as corn hole, ring toss and mini golf. A large array of prizes, donated by GRCC Board of Directors and other members, were available for active participants. Desserts were presented by the team from Toffee Tradition & DiMisa 721 Gourmet Catering, LLC.
As GRCC President Michelle Mosher welcomed everyone to this month’s luncheon she also had several members expected to be in attendance for which she provided special recognition. Dr. Alex Anzalone, new Interim Campus President and responsible for The Regent and Brandon Campus of Hillsborough Community College, Juliana Dennis, New Community Relations Liaison for Phoenix Programs of Florida, Inc. (aka Phoenix House), and Terrie Dodson-Caldevilla, New Corporate & Community Relations Manager and Beth Duff, New Sales Manager at Florida State Fair Authority were all warmly welcomed. Also, Steve Cox and Katie Walker from TeleVoIPs as well as Tony Marakas and Gemma Duarte from Benzer Pharmacy were all congratulated for being selected as two of Tampa Bay’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies by Tampa Bay Business Journal.
After Michelle had each of the board members introduce themselves and acknowledged the Ambassadors and Staff in the room, she then introduced Donna Steiermann, Executive Director, The Bridges Retirement Community, to the podium. Donna reminded everyone what a terrific choice The Bridges is for taking care of their loved ones. Donna then invited Dr. Tanya Gold, MD to take over the microphone. Dr. Gold is Board Certified in Family Medicine & Holistic Medicine. She is also a Laughter Yoga Leader and a Registered Yoga Teacher. Dr. Gold taught the crowd how important it is to let go occasionally and just laugh.
Much fun was had during this mini Laughter Yoga session, then the laughter, smiles and cheering continued into the annual Monkey Bike Race and Ski Race. This year Dr. Kimberly Tyson, Four Paws Veterinary Hospital, tried to regain her bike race title from last year’s winner Christian Beiter, Preservation 1st Financial Group, LLC. Sadly, she was not able to claim victory over the bike race, but, she and Christian did raise nice donations to go to their respective charities of choice; Critter Adoption and Rescue Effort and South County Spartans. On the boards this year, representatives from the Taking Care of Business team used their veteran experience to sail past the brand-new Year One Club Team.
Janet Noah, The Bridges Retirement Community, announced that the June Ambassador of the Month was Joe Eletto, Century 21 Beggins. Also on the podium were Nikki Foster, The Mosaic Company and Kendra Wilson, Suncoast Credit Union to talk about the upcoming Teaching to Excellence event.
During the luncheon, Jill Andrew, Tessera of Brandon, welcomed 21 New GRCC Members who were presented a 2019 Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce membership plaque to proudly display. Michael Broussard, The Flying Locksmiths, provided recognition to the renewing members.
