On Friday, June 4th, 2021, Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) investors along with representatives from Greater Brandon and Valrico Fishhawk Chambers joined together at High 5 Inc. in Brandon. High 5 Executive Director Chuck Burgess and Board Member Chris Pello led the ceremony in announcing their official name change. High 5 Inc. is formerly known as Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center (BSAC) and the name change is meant to reflect their “Pillars of Progress.” During the event, the sounds of children having fun and working on their swimming skills filled the air. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, attendees engaged in business networking and were given a tour of the facility.
High 5 is a family-first multi-purpose facility whose five Pillars in Progress are After-School, Learn to Swim, Special Needs Education and Vocational Training (children and adults), Sports and Rec, and Community Partnerships. High 5 now serves the After-School needs of Bevis, Brooker, Cimino, Fishhawk Creek, Lithia Springs, Kingswood, Mintz, Stowers, and Symmes elementary schools, among others.
There was a proclamation delivered by 2020 GRCC Ambassador of the Year Joe Eletto, Century 21 Beggins. He recognized June 4th, 2021 to be High 5 Inc. Day and asked attendees to duly note the occasion by remembering that at High 5 Inc. they are dedicated to making positive impacts on the lives of residents in the region and beyond.
