On Saturday, April 24th, 2021, Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) investors joined together at Armature Works to celebrate the opening of registration for Live, Achieve, Believe, Inc - The LAB’s Suicide Awareness Showdown. Preceding the ribbon cutting there was a live flash mob and a live performance.
The “LAB” (Live Achieve Believe) is an organization where assistance is offered in the odyssey of self-development. Their mission is to empower through education, self-reflection, and self-evaluation expressly learning who they really are, not who they have been conditioned to be – therefore finding their purpose, ultimately unlocking their power.
The Suicide Awareness Showdown was started to help people celebrate life. It aims to encourage oneself to set out on a journey of self-discovery to comprehend the core of their very being. Exposing the beauty that lies within, leads to character building. The showdown honors all those brave men, women, boys, and girls who struggle with suicide in any form and continue to stay strong one moment at a time.
There was a proclamation delivered by 2020 GRCC President, Mike Jones, Florida DOE Vocational Rehabilitation. He recognized April 24th, 2021 to be Live, Achieve, Believe, Inc - The LAB Day and asked attendees to duly note this occasion by remembering that at Live, Achieve, Believe, Inc - The LAB, they help guide the journey from despondency to purpose.
The Suicide Awareness Showdown will take place at The Regent in Riverview on September 18th, 2021. The theme for the event is “A Night at the Oscars.” For more information, visit their website at www.thelab-inc.org or you can reach them by phone at (813) 588-5010.
