Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Meals on Wheels – Riverview Hub
 
On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce celebrated a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for valued member, Meals on Wheels Tampa, to celebrate their Riverview Pick Up Site.  The Executive Director, Steve King, greeted the crowd of attendees and spoke about the mission of Meals on Wheels Tampa and the 110 meal routes they serve daily.  Yvette Rouse, Volunteer Program Manager, thanked the volunteers for helping to serve the community and encouraged others to volunteer their time, either as an individual or as a group/business, to help with the mission.  The Riverview Pick Up Site is located in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church of Riverview, 8626 US-301, Riverview, FL 33578.

Meals on Wheels of Tampa is a privately funded nonprofit whose volunteers deliver a daily meal, along with a caring visit, to the area's homebound, disabled, and elderly neighbors. A hot, nutritious meal is delivered at the door of over 1,100 individuals by the Meals On Wheels of Tampa caring volunteers. The delivery of the hot meals and the visits by the volunteers are designed to meet the need for increased intake of nutritious food, to improve the recipient's personal outlook and health, and to help decrease their feelings of isolation and loneliness.

At the Ribbon Cutting celebration, there was a Proclamation delivered by GRCC Chair of the Board, Tammy See of OEL Heating and Cooling.  She recognized July 18, 2023, to be Meals on Wheels of Tampa Day, and asked attendees to duly note this occasion and remember that “Together, We Nourish, Enrich, and Strengthen!”
