• GRCC Celebrates Triumphant Return of In-Person Monthly Luncheon

On Tuesday, July 27, 2021 the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) hosted their Monthly Investor Meeting at The Regent, 6437 Watson Road, Riverview, FL. This event was GRCC’s first in-person luncheon since February 2020 and all those in attendance were extremely excited to be back in attendance. Pastor Eric Hernandez, Brilla Church, provided the day’s invocation. Leading the meeting this month in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance was District IV Community Resource Deputy Brian Sherman from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. GRCC Military Affairs Committee Leader Richard Rohde, R Processor, Inc., recognized the service of all the veterans in attendance during the Military Recognition.

GRCC Chair of the Board Janet Noah, The Bridges Retirement Community, started the meeting by recognizing the Past Presidents and Board Chairs as well as the current Board of Directors who were in attendance. Noah also graciously thanked The Mosaic Company, Suncoast Credit Union, St. Joseph’s Hospital – South, and South State Bank for sponsoring the Chamber office’s brand-new computer technology. Because of their generosity the Chamber staff will be better suited to assist the community and local businesses and help solidify themselves as the Economic Development Engine in the Greater Riverview area. She also introduced the newest staff member of the Chamber, Amanda McClintock, who is the new Event Coordinator. She then introduced Donna Steiermann, Executive Director of The Bridges Retirement Community, to speak with attendees about what their Assisted Living facility has to offer the Greater Riverview area.

At this month’s meeting Kendra Wilson, founder of Project Lotus Restoring Dignity and Branch Manager of Suncoast Credit Union, welcomed fourteen (14) brand-new GRCC investors. Board Chair-Elect Michael Broussard, The Flying Locksmiths, provided recognition to the thirty-seven (37) valued renewing investors.

Event committee chairs Nikki Foster, The Mosaic Company, and Kristi McCart, McCart & Tesmer, P.A., then informed the audience about this year’s Teaching to Excellence event. Theresa Sharkey, Your Pie, followed up by announcing the triumphant return of Trick or Treat Street, which will be held on October 23 at Riverview High School. The final speaker of the afternoon was Gretchen DelSavio, Riverview Friends of the Library, for this month’s Investor Spotlight. She discussed how they lead community advocacy campaigns, raising awareness and funds for our local library.

The luncheon wrapped up with Noah and Jones announcing the door prizes and 50/50 raffle. Jeff Sheffer, Pronesis Technology Group, graciously donated his 50/50 raffle winnings to the Teaching to Excellence event.
