Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce Celebrates
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Dedication of Gretchen DelSavio Room at Riverview Public Library
 
On February 16, 2023, the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce joined with the Riverview Friends of the Library for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in celebration of the dedication of a room in honor of Gretchen DelSavio.  There was a large turnout of Friends of the Library volunteers, as well as members of the community.  Gretchen spoke to the crowd and a plaque with Gretchen’s picture was revealed next to the dedicated room.  Following the ceremony, light refreshments for the attendees were served in the Johnson Community Room, named for Jim Johnson, who was also in attendance for the celebration.

Gretchen DelSavio, long-time member and President, gave many years of service to the Friends of the Riverview Library and to the community at large.  Riverview Friends of the Library helps provide support and a varied menu of programs for the citizens of our community. They also operate a bookstore in the north lobby of the building, and the money raised by the bookstore goes towards funding library programs, such as yoga and kid’s programs.

At the Ribbon Cutting celebration, there was a Proclamation delivered by GRCC Past Chair of the Board, Michael Broussard of The Flying Locksmiths.  He recognized February 16, 2023, to be Riverview Friends of the Library – Gretchen DelSavio Room Dedication Day, and asked attendees to duly note and remember that Riverview Friends of the Library supports the Riverview Public Library, making it possible for you to, “Discover, Engage, and Transform!”
