    Local Heroes Honored at
    Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce
    Monthly Member Luncheon
Thanks to Riverview Mortgage and Homes for Heroes

On Tuesday, November 27, 2018 the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) hosted their monthly luncheon event at The Regent, 6437 Watson Road, Riverview, FL. The November edition of the Membership Meeting Luncheon featured several heartwarming touches was sponsored by Riverview Mortgage and Pastor Vickie Nunn, United Hearts Church, provided the day’s invocation.

GRCC President Michelle Mosher, Southshore Insurance Professionals, LLC, welcomed the group.  Then, leading the room this month in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance was 2018 Honorary Mayor of Riverview Dr. Bryan Thatcher.  This month’s Military Recognition and Appreciation was provided by Military Affairs Committee Chairman Joe Eletto, Century 21 Beggins.

Michelle introduced and welcomed the day’s sponsor, Eros & Julie Dahl, Riverview Mortgage, to the podium. Not only did the Dahl’s encourage everyone to bring toy donations for Toys for Tots (TOTS), they decorated each table with cool toys to be turned over to the table of TOTS Marine guests hosted by Don Pearson of Pearson Capital, Inc.  These toys cleverly represented the careers of the heroes who were about to be honored.

Julie and Eros were joined on stage by their fellow Homes for Heroes affiliate Janine Morris to announce their recent Hero selections. Mike O’Dell, a disabled Navy Vietnam Veteran, was honored for his untiring volunteer work in helping veterans and their families.  Firefighter/paramedic Jeff Brewer was honored for putting his life on the line for over 6 years now as a representative of the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue unit.  An exceptional teacher was also honored.  Lynn Hayes, Exceptional Student Education Specialist, thoroughly enjoys her job working with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties students whom she says are the difference that our world needs.  Michelle Ambriati, a nurse at Superior Residences of Brandon Memory Care, has the rare passion and compassion to communicate and care for her dementia patients.  Deputy Cliff Fletcher, Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office, has been serving our community for 21 years.  Cliff has always gone above and beyond his duty when it comes to helping with the plight of the homeless in our area and has been a terrific partner to the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce.

Darrell Green, The Patriot Realty Group - HomeXpress Realty, Inc, encouraged members to get their GRCC Military Discount window decal to advertise their special offer to the military community.  President Mosher reminded everyone that the Annual Dinner, “Oh What A Knight!”, is scheduled for January 11th and it is now time to get your tables reserved. Honorary Mayor of Riverview Dr. Bryan Thatcher presented proclamations to his Honorary Deputy Mayors for their dedication and participation throughout 2018.

This month’s Ambassador of the Month certificate was presented to Jennifer Caskey, CenterState Bank.  Jennifer has been an Ambassador for many years and most recently served as Co-Leader of this tremendous team.  Ambassador of the Year Joe Eletto, Century 21 Beggins, was delighted to present the award to Jennifer this month.

During the luncheon, Leslie Forrester, Quality Life Massage Therapy, welcomed 11 New GRCC Members who were presented a 2018 Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce membership plaque to proudly display.  Jill Andrew, Superior Residences of Brandon Memory Care, provided recognition to all of the renewing members present at the luncheon, they were presented new GRCC lapel pins.
