Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce Celebrates
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Sylvia Thomas Center
for Adoptive and Foster Families
On June 1, 2022, Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce joined with long-time Investor, Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families to celebrate their 22nd anniversary, having had to delay their 20th anniversary celebration due to the pandemic. This ceremony was a celebration of 22 years in the 22nd week of 2022, recognizing over 20 years of caring support and service to adoptive and foster families.
The Sylvia Thomas Center keeps the “forever” in forever families by providing adoptive and foster children and families the necessary tools and support to enable them to bond and thrive. For over 20 years, they have been making an impact on the lives of adoptive families, working together to overcome obstacles and address behavioral challenges. They are committed to supporting families who are on their adoption journey to identify and manage threats to permanency. This may include family counseling, case management, and other support to address the experiences the children have had with abuse, abandonment, neglect and other challenges to attachment.
At the Ribbon Cutting Celebration, there was a Proclamation delivered by GRCC Director of Investor Relations, Debbie Kirkland. She recognized June 1, 2022, to be Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families Day and asked attendees to duly note and remember that The Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive & Foster Families will continue “Helping Kids Heal and Families Flourish.” To learn more about Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families, visit the website at https://www.sylviathomascenter.org or call (813) 651-3150.
